Dear Parents and Carers
Welcome to our latest newsletter that shares some of the hard work and effort students and staff have been putting into teaching and learning over this half-term. It does not show the huge work effort going on with remote learning, but does give you a window into some of the activities students have been taking part in and some of the work they have produced.
It is great to see students still completing their Duke of Edinburgh awards as there has been a great opportunity recently to do charitable and community work. It is good to see that students are getting other experiences from our virtual trips, including Angkor Wat, the First World War Trenches, or speech and language trips, as examples.
We continue to be amazed by the resourcefulness, creativity and excellence students continue to show. This may be through ‘pancakes’, a video collaboration for the National Film and TV school, art, textiles or photography. I particularly like the photo of the bumble bee on the flower as I think it shows the pleasure and beauty one can get out of stopping and really being curious about what is around us.
At the end of another unusual and almost surreal half term I leave you with a quote from Mahatma Gandhi, “There is more to life than increasing its speed”.
We wish you and your children a safe and slower half term break, filled with curiosity because you have definitely earnt it.
Be Kind
