Message from the Headteacher
Dear Parents and Carers
Welcome to this edition of our newsletter in what has been an incredibly active half-term. I wish to start by saying well-done to Year 11 to 13 for their exams to date and wish them luck in their remaining exams. It is a privilege to see their work ethic and determination to do well.
There have been some incredible events this half-term, with one of the highlights being the exceptional ‘Feast on the field’. It was inspiring to see the student leadership and management of this event, which was put on entirely by them and raised a significant amount of money for the Rob’s ARTT charity. All the more impressive was although the weather did not play its part, it did not dampen spirits and all had a good time. Well done to all involved.
It has been great to see a huge number of our students getting involved in various enrichment activities, form Year 8 to Year 12 taking part in the ‘Brilliant Club’ where a significant proportion received 1st and 2:1 awards upon their graduation at King’s College London; to four of our students receiving their Gold Award for Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham Palace this year. Although we are determined for all our students to do well academically, we also know it is equally important for them to develop as rounded individuals by taking up opportunities, they otherwise might not and pushing themselves out of their comfort zones.
Finally, it has been great to see our Sixth Form students delivering assemblies to all our year groups on their Extended Projects that they have been busily working on. It was amazing to see the quality of these projects, the students' interest in their projects and what they had overcome to deliver the project on-time and to a large audience. They are exceptional role models to all our students. Well done.
I hope this newsletter gives you a flavour of the vibrancy within our community and I wish you a safe, but great half-term.
Kindest regards
Ed Hillyard
