Year 10
On Thursday 20 January the Year 10 Netball team played an away game at The Misbourne school. We started off the match strongly in the first quarter leading 4:1, with some strong dodging and passes. Similarly in the 2nd quarter, gaining four more points and leading by 8:4 in half time. From this first half, the teamwork along with the technique was successful and allowed us to gain those points. In the 3rd quarter, we obtained 3 more goals, with Misbourne scoring 1. At this point, it felt as though the ball was lost more often however, we pulled it together and managed to take a lead ready for the last quarter. Here we persevered to score the last few goals in which we got 4 more, leaving the score at 15:9, putting us in a good place and reflecting on the hard work the whole team used throughout the match.
Year 11
On Thursday 27 January the Year 11 Netball team along with the help of some of our Year 10 players faced Chesham Grammar School. In the first quarter, HGSS started off strongly scoring 3 goals to 2 giving us a lot of confidence to carry on well. In the second quarter we scored 5 more amazing goals which lead us to the winning score of 8 goals to 4 halfway through the match. Our passes were very strong, and we worked very well in a team to get the ball quickly but safely across the court. In the last two quarters we worked very hard to secure a win being challenged by the opposing team which lead us to gaining 15 more great goals securing the win at 23-12 to HGSS. Furthermore, our GK, Emma Jones was rewarded with player of the match as she worked hard in oppositions scoring end of the court to get it back down to our great attacking team, this really helped us get us get the win. Thank you to the Year 10s Olivia Cody and Sophie Tavener for playing half a game each for us at GA and for Emma for playing such a great game for us at GK.
