Zoom Meeting with the Bank of England
On Tuesday 10 of November, the Year 12 Economic students were very lucky to have a Zoom session with John Lewis, Research Manager, from the Bank of England.
He was able to explain what the role of the Bank of England played in our country's economy and what impact Covid-19 was currently having on this. Mr Lewis presented the class with graphs and figures showing the changes in supply and demand as well as the effect of changing interest rates.
Our students were also given time to ask questions about the Furlough scheme and the impact of Education during Covid. This valuable experience was thoroughly enjoyed by the students who were very intrigued with the Gold reserve the country has stored in the Bank of England.
We would like to personally thank Mr Lewis for giving up his valuable time to enable our students an insight into the economy of our country as this really has helped with their understanding.
